This college gymnasium was using a 400W (458w including the ballast) metal halide at 35 feet in the air, causing multiple dark spots on the gym floor and an overall dim feeling.
In order to reach the appropriate lighting levels, each metal halide was replaced by a 6-lamp T5 high output Cooper HBI, giving this state of the art facility a new look.
As you can see, these old 400W metal halide fixtures lose over 50% of their light quality over the life of the lamp.
In this particular application, each metal halide was replaced with a 6-lamp T8 Cooper Hi Bay fixture, cutting the wattage down to 218W!
